The photos are from my installation called exile. At the entrance of the
show a telephone was placed on a table that rang every 7 minutes. It
dialled up randomly another telephone between Iran and somewhere in the
world.
The telephones at each end of the line ring the same time and its up to
anybody to answer. The monitors in the background showed 3 different
situations where people using public phones monitors showed people that
couldn't reach over and over again.
The installation included also a projection, 4 minutes video, in a
darkroom. The video starts by the sound of dialling in the dark then
you’ll see a telephone placed on the floor in a house. Then the camera
takes us on a tour in the house visiting the tidy living room and the
chaotic sleeping room and then to the dark corner in the house and the
telephone stops ringing.
The video was shown in loop.
